Traditionally a foyer holds your coat closet, and maybe a place to hang a hat or an umbrella stand. It is a often a furnished with a small table, and mirror for a last minute look as you rush out the door, and or a bench to sit and put on shoes. You can also incorporate wonderful old antiques for storage or just interest in your foyer.

Having a theme for your foyer can be a reflection of your personal tastes and interests.  A nautical theme reflects a families interest in sailing or boating, equestrian prints say “we are into horses”, contemporary art shows your interest in modern artwork… etc. Whatever your interest its fun to decorate the foyer as a window into your home and your life .

The foyer is also a great place to showcase a collection . Such as these wonderful black and white photographs artfully displayed with stacks of photography themed books.
